Four Things

1. Three Volunteers: Thank you to the three residents who volunteered to help pass out flyers for Walking Nights. You are appreciated very much and you'll get the flyers today at some point in order to pass out this weekend. The first event is coming up in only 13 days from now on June 20th, so we need to get moving on communication to help get other residents on board for this event. If anyone would be willing to stick a staked Walking Nights sign in your lawn too, let me know. And if anyone would like to help make some of those signs next week, better yet. I really think that this series of events has great potential to develop a deeper sense of community for our neighborhood.

2. Pictures of Airshow: Being that the Capital Air Show is coming in just two days, if anyone takes pictures of the event while at the airshow itself or simply from our neighborhood, let's post some on the blog. Email the pics to "cordovatowne at yahoo dot com".

3. New Contributor: We have a new neighbor who will be contributing on the blog, so be on the lookout for her posts. And speaking of that, for any contributors (present or future), feel free to put something up at any time. It can be the same day as another post or the next day.... whatever works for your schedule.

4. Gift Card Suggestions: Any suggestions for gift cards to buy for Walking Nights? We will spend about $100 on gift cards for the raffle for each of the three nights? Starbucks, Raleys, Target..... What do you like? What do you think residents would like to win in this raffle? Any great local restaurant? Or does anyone have connections to other free gift cards? A business can always donate something and we will give a public thank you as well as a thank you on the blog with all of their information posted. We can certainly raffle off products too.

You might see if the Baskin Robbins near you has gift certificates. That could be a nice thing for a family with kids to get a treat out. Maybe, too there could be movie passes to a local theater (either the discount theather at the nearby mall or a full theather across the street). That might pay for a family night out w/ movie and icecream.
