Flyer / Flag / Block Party / NNO / Idea

1. Be on the lookout for a Neighborhood Event Flyer to go out in the next week (hopefully). This flyer will have all events that are scheduled thus far from now through the end of 2007. This is an attempt to help communicate with the neighborhood and especially with those who have no Internet connection (which is surprisingly many people in our area). If anyone is available this weekend or next week to pass out flyers, let me know. It would be great to have 3-4 people team up to do flyers. It's good exercise too. Thanks.

2. A neighbor on Ramsgate had his American Flag stolen from his porch on Sunday morning (and he's a Veteran too). Isn't that lame? It was very likely a random act of ridiculousness.

3. The Block Party is moving forward. Communication will be key. Anyone want to help publicize this thing? We will need a handful of signs made to stake in lawns and then willing neighbors to put signs in lawns. Queen, a neighbor, is working on getting live music for us if possible and it looks like we have a port-o-potty already. Please see two posts below to sign up to help out.

4. Today is the National Night Out in our country. No, we do not have an event, though that would have been great. We didn't do anything this year in light of having 3 Walking Nights events throughout the Summer. Maybe next year we will do something if there is interest and if somebody wants to rise up and team up to spearhead things. But it would still be a great idea to be out tonight walking around and spending time with people to show our solidarity against crime in Cordova Towne. And if you are intent to host something next year, maybe you ought to cruise by Lincoln Village, a local neighboring Neighborhood Association, since they are pulling off quite the NNO.

5. One of the easiest ways to get to know neighbors is to invite someone over for something to eat and simply talk. Some friends on our street did this to us last night as we were taking a walk and it was such a treat (quite literally too since we had cake).
